The Empowering Women in Industry initiative has nominated Fort Worth Construction Partner and 'Welder Woman' Kaylin Leas for Tradeswoman of the Year. 

As a result of the partnership, Trade Academy — with a mission to recruit people into the trades, provide training, and work with employers to provide great careers — will offer 20 $2,500 scholarships to candidates in the HVAC/R industry or students planning to enter a HVAC/R trade school.

The company now offers a continuing education unit focused on the capabilities and configuration options of many electrical heating devices and how they can be customized to suit every unique architectural or engineering demand.

Working with the Alachua County Veteran Services Division, Air Pros USA and the Florida Gators awarded 88-year-old Eddie Thomas, a decorated Korean War veteran, with a brand-new air conditioning unit and installation, free of charge.

The award was created to recognize an employee from one of the association's member companies who, in his or her own extraordinary way, quietly gives of their time and skills to benefit others while seeking no recognition or compensation. 

The addition of Giant strengthens the company's leadership position as a global supplier of residential and commercial water heaters.
