The American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE) recently brought together thousands of engineers, designers, contractors, master plumbers, architects, and code officials in Oklahoma City for its 2026 Convention & Expo, a popular biennial event catered to the plumbing engineering and design community.
The event featured a comprehensive agenda, including a business meeting, an extensive technical education program, and a vibrant exhibit floor that showcased a wider array of companies and products than any other industry event. The show floor, a highlight of the Expo, was bustling with new exhibitors and exclusive product showcases specifically focused on plumbing engineering and design products.
“The number and variety of new technologies on the show floor this year were outstanding,” said Billy Smith, FASPE, ASPE executive director/CEO. "Attendees were treated to a plethora of new products and ideas to take back to their offices and incorporate into their designs. I commend our exhibitors for once again raising the bar with their innovations, which you could only find all in one place at the 2026 ASPE Convention & Expo.”
The famous Sunday Night Party Presented by NIBCO Inc. kickstarted the event’s networking at Chicken N Pickle, where attendees mingled over live music, food, drinks, and pickleball, making connections and exchanging ideas.
On Monday, Oct. 12, the ASPE Breakfast Award Ceremony honored the top Society award recipients and inducted the 2026-2028 ASPE Board of Directors and the 2026 class of the Kenneth G. Wentink College of Fellows. Among the distinguished awardees was Willoughby Industries Inc., which was recognized with the ASPE Industry Award for outstanding service to the advancement of plumbing engineering technology.
“On behalf of our 250 employees and 45 independent manufacturer representative companies across North America, Willoughby thanks ASPE for this honor and for a relationship that has spanned multiple decades —from national involvement to working directly with plumbing engineers on individual projects,” said Rick Lewis, national sales manager for Willoughby Industries Inc.
The Expo opened later that morning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, launching two days of product exhibitions. The Innovation Wall, which expanded to feature products from nearly 60 companies, greeted attendees at the entrance. Insightful conversations with our 280+ exhibitors kept attendees on the show floor for hours.
The ASPE Innovation Theater featured 12 companies showing off their latest innovations and gave exhibitors a place to present in 15-minutes slots on the show floor. The event also recognized exhibitor achievements with the Best Booth Awards, presented to Delta Commercial and Oasis International, celebrating creative and impactful displays.
Exhibitors have already reserved 75% of the exhibit space for the 2028 ASPE Convention & Expo, set for Oct. 5-11 in Louisville, Kentucky. The event will again give plumbing design professionals a chance to connect, learn, and lead. More information is available at the ASPE Convention & Expo website.
