WQA Names Jeremy Pollack Government Affairs Director

The Water Quality Association (WQA), a trade association representing the residential, commercial and industrial water treatment industry, has selected Jeremy Pollack as its new government affairs director. Pollack once worked in an advisory role for WQA and most recently served as Manager of Federal and Global Government Affairs for the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).

"This is pivotal role for WQA," said Tom Bruursema, WQA's associate executive director for member and public engagement. "Jeremy will be responsible for developing and guiding the association's U.S. domestic federal legislative and regulatory agenda, in addition to managing international, regional, and state-level affairs."

Pollack was the chief liaison for ASHRAE's 50,000 members to Congressional and federal agencies on issues related to resiliency, water, energy, sustainability, and COVID-19 guidance. For WQA, he will be responsible for building strategies to ensure creation and passage of key legislation and regulation, including interacting with legislators, coalition building, and persuasively advancing the association's positions on water-related issues. Pollack replaces David Loveday, who passed away of cancer in July after 15 years with WQA.

"This is an amazing opportunity," said Pollack, who previously worked on WQA's behalf while with Gephardt Government Affairs in Washington, D.C. "I look forward to building upon WQA's excellent government affairs foundation and offering guidance and support to WQA's manufacturer and dealer members who are providing much-needed water treatment solutions across the country and the world."

Pollack will be based in Washington, D.C., providing him direct and critical access to Congress, federal agencies and many key partners and stakeholders of WQA.
