WQA Issues Call for 2023 Convention Presentations

The Water Quality Association (WQA) is inviting potential speakers to submit proposals for education sessions for the 2023 WQA Convention & Exposition on April 18-20, 2023 in Las Vegas. The convention theme is “Momentum.”

Convention education sessions cover business operations topics appropriate for small or family-owned businesses or technical topics related to Point-of-Use/Point-of-Entry water treatment. All topics are welcome, although the WQA Technical Convention Education Task force has developed some suggestions: Chloride discharge and brine recovery issues; water treatment for beverage applications or agricultural applications; disinfection and sanitation; water emergency responses; rainwater harvesting; emerging contaminants such as PFAS, methane or microplastics; advanced oxidation processes; water testing issues; permitting problems; and new standard developments.

“Presenters should not feel limited by these suggestions,” said Tanya Lubner, PhD, WQA’s professional certification and training director. “We’ve found the most relevant issues usually come from people working in the industry daily, who can share knowledge gleaned in the field and in a manner that the audience will appreciate.”

When selecting the speakers, WQA will give preference to WQA members and to registered exhibitors and sponsors. The sessions are intended as learning opportunities and should not contain references to specific products or overtly promote a speaker’s products or services.  Paid opportunities to promote a speaker’s products, such as Business Spotlights presentations, will be available closer to convention time.

Proposals for education sessions are due by July 31, 2022, and must be submitted online using WQA’s form and guidelines. Questions can be directed to education@wqa.org.
