As leak detection technology improves and becomes easier to integrate, property owners and insurers increasingly expect system designers to include water damage mitigation measures in their plans. 

American Rescue Plan funding facilitates many improvements in school restrooms to reduce the spread of illness. The Healthy Schools, Healthy People initiative cites comprehensive data proving that proper hand hygiene is key to good health for the whole school community.

Designing plumbing systems for these facilities, particularly their scope and instrument reprocessing areas, can be a daunting task even for designers familiar with them.

When facilities managers use remote 24/7 monitoring of their backflow preventers, grease interceptors and restrooms, they can sense, respond to and anticipate issues with greater efficiency. 

When I think about the best projects I have worked on, it’s been these two behaviors that were prevalent.
