Wolseley Canada is proud to support the next generation of skilled trades professionals through an investment in skilled trades education across Western Canada.
As demand for qualified tradespeople continues to grow, supporting students pursuing careers in plumbing and HVAC is more important than ever. Skilled trades play a vital role in building and maintaining the homes, businesses and infrastructure communities rely on every day.
"Investing in students today helps strengthen the workforce of tomorrow," said Vanessa Lupton, communications manager, Wolseley Canada. "Skilled trades offer rewarding and essential career opportunities, and we're proud to help reduce some of the financial barriers that students may face as they pursue those careers."
Through partnerships with Assiniboine College, Saskatchewan Polytechnic, the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT), the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) and the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT), Wolseley Canada is investing $25,000 in 12 needs-based bursaries ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 for students pursuing plumbing and HVAC programs across Western Canada.
"The future of our industry depends on attracting and supporting new talent," Lupton said. "These bursaries are designed to help students take the next step in their education while building a stronger skilled trades workforce for the communities we serve."
