NAHB, Alair Homes Announce Final New American Home in Orlando

NAHB, Alair Homes Announce Final New American Home in Orlando.jpg

The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) has unveiled exciting new details of its official show home of the NAHB International Builders' Show (IBS): The New American Home 2026 (TNAH). The home, produced in collaboration with the NAHB Leading Suppliers Council and Professional Builder magazine, will not only serve as a cutting-edge exhibition of the industry's latest innovations, but will also have a special tie to local community services. The 2026 edition, located in Winter Park, Florida., will be the 43rd home in the program's history, and will be built by Alair Homes.

The New American Home (TNAH) 2026 marks a pivotal moment for Alair Homes as the first national builder in this prestigious program. Celebrated for showcasing cutting-edge innovations in design and sustainability, this year's home sets a new standard while supporting meaningful community causes.

For the first time, TNAH is being built for a specific mission and homeowner—Jason Eichenholz, Ph.D., a serial entrepreneur, philanthropist and the founder of the Jonathan's Landing and CEO and founder of Relativity Networks. He previously co-founded and served as the CTO of Luminar Technologies. Inspired by his son, Jonathan, a young adult with autism, Jason is matching the cost of all contributions from manufacturers and suppliers dollar-for-dollar to support Jonathan's Landing Foundation, a comprehensive intentional community  creating housing for 500 people and 5,000 jobs to help adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to live with purpose and have access to meaningful work while achieving their maximum level of independence.

"This home isn't just a showcase of the future of home building—it's a symbol of what's possible when passion, philanthropy, and innovation come together," said Eichenholz. "After its debut, it will also serve as a platform for other meaningful charities, extending its impact far beyond a single home."

"Home building professionals can expect to see one of the most innovative show homes ever built when The New American Home 2026 is unveiled," said NAHB Chairman Buddy Hughes, a home builder and developer from Lexington, N.C. "Each year, The New American Home program raises the bar for our industry when it comes to achieving the highest levels of performance, design and efficiency. I am confident the 2026 home will be yet another impressive showcase of the very latest in residential construction techniques and product innovations."

New Era for The New American Home

Alair Homes Orlando, led by Daniel Kennerly and Jim Krantz, is overseeing the construction of this groundbreaking home in Winter Park, Fla. This will be the last New American Home to be built in Orlando, as future homes will be exclusively constructed in Las Vegas in conjunction with NAHB's International Builders' Show.

The 7,414 sq. ft. livable home (15,176 sq. ft. under roof) will feature:

  • Six bedrooms and eight bathrooms, with an expansive second-floor master suite and balcony spa
  • A basement with a wellness and exercise suite, wine cellar and entertainment areas, including a game room and theater
  • An 18-car underground garage with car elevator and multiple car storage lifts
  • A private entrance to discreetly accommodate catering vans and staff during events
  • An infinity-edge pool overlooking the lake with boating access
  • Cast-In-Place concrete basement walls, light gauge metal framing for the 1st & 2nd floors and smart, sustainable solutions designed to exceed energy efficiency standards

Designed by Michael Wenrich Architects, Interior Design by Steele Street Studios, and sustainability consultation from Two Trails, the home aims for top green certifications including NGBS Emerald, ENERGY STAR, Indoor airPLUS, DOE Zero Energy Ready Home and a HERS Index exceeding NEGATIVE 30!

Tour The New American Home 2026

The home will be unveiled next year at the 2026 NAHB International Builders' Show (IBS), Feb. 17-19, 2026, where IBS attendees and media members can tour the home and experience the latest in design, technology and sustainability.

A Defining Moment for Alair Homes

Daniel Kennerly, Partner at Alair Homes Orlando, on leading TNAH 2026:

"Being the first national builder for The New American Home is an incredible honor. This project isn't just about home building—it's about making a real, meaningful impact for the community; it's about the alignment of my personal and corporate values. It's what makes this home truly special."

Jim Krantz, Partner at Alair Homes Orlando, on the personal connection to the project:

"As a father of a son with autism, this project means everything. My son, Luke, and Jonathan are friends and have been classmates for more than a decade, and knowing that Jonathan's Landing provides a place for adults like them to thrive with dignity brings me hope. This home will support that mission—it's a legacy."

Rob Cecil, CEO of Alair Homes, on the significance for the brand:

"Alair Homes is about more than just building homes—we build relationships, communities, and legacies. With over 107 locations and growing, being the first national builder for The New American Home is a milestone that reflects the purpose we continue to champion across North America."
