ARCSA/ASPE Stormwater Harvesting System Design Standard Available for Public Review

The Working Group responsible for developing ARCSA/ASPE 78: Stormwater Harvesting System Design for Direct End-Use Applications has completed their review of the 2015 version of the standard, and the revision is now available for public review.

This standard was developed by a joint effort by the American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE) and American Rainwater Catchment Systems Association (ARCSA). The purpose of this standard is to assist engineers, designers, plumbers, builders, developers, landscape and irrigation professionals, state and local government, and end users in implementing a stormwater harvesting system while protecting public health and safety. This standard is intended to apply to new stormwater harvesting installations, as well as alterations, additions, maintenance, and repairs to existing installations. It applies, for example, to the collection of stormwater from the transportation grid (vehicular parking, driving, or other similar surfaces), elevated parking structures, surface public right-of-ways, and storm drain systems.

Directly and materially affected interests wishing to comment on this revision are requested to do so by Feb. 7, 2022. To obtain  a copy of the standard and the comment form, contact ASPE Director of Communications and Publications Gretchen Pienta, at gpienta@aspe.org.

A notice of this public review was published in the Dec. 24, 2021 edition of ANSI Standards Action.
