Trend Alert: Big Style in The Bath

Bold colors, finishes and shapes bring glamour and interest to the bathroom.

Bathrooms may be a practical necessity in every home, but it doesn’t mean they can’t also be a beautiful and luxurious space to refresh the body and renew the spirit. Today’s most sought-after looks embrace the use of space, color and shapes to create a modern environment that is dramatic and sophisticated.

The plumbing industry has responded to this movement with fixtures and furnishings to help showrooms, dealers and designers meet these trends head-on. The results are simply breathtaking — a plethora of products that celebrate bold styling, angular proportions and minimalist lines. We love the blending of old Hollywood drama with a fresh urban vibe that truly elevates an ordinary bathroom into an extraordinary space. Let’s take a closer look at some of our favorite products bringing a big impact to the bathroom.

Black Goes Bold

Nothing grabs attention like a high-contrast color scheme. BainUltra’s new black-and-white finish brings a bold drama to the bathroom that is elegant and contemporary. The luxurious black exterior is finished by hand with expert care and is exceptionally durable and easy to maintain.

This new option looks especially chic on the freestanding VIBE 5828 tub with its gently sloped sides and clean lines. The VIBE Collection is designed to fit smaller spaces without sacrificing the comfort or ergonomics of a therapeutic bath. With its eye-catching hues and host of therapeutic options, this beautiful tub is certain to appeal to the next generation of bathers.

Curved to Perfection

Circles are a classic design element that transitions easily between traditional and modern decors and adds a sense of softness and ease. Grandeur Hardware incorporates this timeless appeal into its Circulaire Collection of graceful knobs and rosettes. Crafted from premium forged brass, the line gives vintage detailing a fresh twist to create a statement look that is simple and sophisticated.

Available in six designer finishes, Circulaire elements are extremely versatile and can be paired with different Grandeur collections to create nearly endless possibilities. The Circulaire line includes a variety of configurations for exterior and interior doors and features the exceptional craftsmanship that is a hallmark of the Grandeur Hardware brand.

Infinite Drama

Isenberg brings dramatic design to the bathroom with its new Infinity wall-mount faucet — it runs along the side of the mirror before jutting away from the wall to create a mesmerizing waterfall effect. Conceived in the Isenberg Design Lab in Dallas, the Infinity faucet is a significant departure from traditional plumbing with an abstract, artistic feel. Measuring 34 inches in total height, this remarkable design may be installed to the right or left of the mirror, making it a perfect choice for dual vanities.

Choose from traditional metallic finishes or one of 16 ceramic-based finishes in colors ranging from soft gray and matte black to crimson and navy blue. The Infinity faucet blurs the line between form and function to create a beautiful yet practical masterpiece for today’s modern bathroom.

Framed in Metal

We love the exposed metal frame on the new Paxton Vanity by The Furniture Guild. It adds great texture and contrast — a definite “Wow!” factor in the bathroom. The frame runs along the sides of the vanity and around each drawer, infusing a cool industrial style that is very on-trend. Crafted from solid brass or steel, the frame is welded and polished by hand for a seamless look and fantastic durability. Choose from an array of metal finishes and more than 50 options for the insert panels, including exotic wood grains.

The Paxton’s wall-mount installation is ideal for compact bathrooms and spaces where a modern look is preferred. Interior options include walnut drawers with glass dividers, glass jar inserts and integrated power/USB outlets. Top the Paxton with an integrated countertop — shown here is its Fenix countersink with nano-tech materials that can actually repair micro- scratches.

Sloped in Stone

Inspired by the art of the human form, the dramatic Eryx vanity sink by MTI Baths makes a decidedly bold visual statement. It was created in collaboration with renowned kitchen and bath designer Matthew Quinn and celebrates the elegance of asymmetric slopes and planes. The wall-mounted vanity sink is constructed from MTI’s proprietary Engineered Solid Stone composed of 75 percent organic materials.

The intriguing design features a reverse infinity bowl with an integrated horizontal drain that blends seamlessly with a fascia that extends to the floor. The sink is available in white or biscuit in a matte or gloss finish, while the legs are offered in a variety of colors for a personalized look.

Sculptural Simplicity

Icera brings sculptural beauty to a bathroom necessity with its sleek Canto toilet. This one-piece design has a transitional yet modern look enhanced by smooth curves at the base and a lid shape that mirrors a coordinating vanity. The Canto includes all Icera’s signature plumbing technology, such as the EcoQuattro flushing system that consumes only 1.28 gallons per flush.

Crafted of vitreous china, this high-efficiency toilet was designed with comfort and convenience in mind and includes an ADA-compliant chair-height elongated bowl, a soft-close and quick-release seat, and a MicroGlaze anti-microbial finish for easy cleaning. The Canto is available in white with multiple metal finish options for the trim and comes with a limited lifetime warranty.

Today’s bathroom trends are all about the drama — the impact pieces that command attention and leave a lasting impression. This is accomplished through color, silhouettes, contrasts, materials and finishes. The plumbing industry has responded to this movement with the amazingly creative products shown here.

We look forward to watching this trend evolve in the future and discovering what innovations lie ahead.
