A. O. Smith launches ‘Commercial-Grade’ ProLine residential water heater line

A. O. Smith has applied its commercial water heating expertise to its new ProLine family of commercial-grade residential water heaters.

Commercial-grade quality comes second nature to A. O. Smith thanks to its vertically integrated manufacturing approach. A. O. Smith subsidiaries are responsible for designing, engineering and fabricating many of the residential and commercial components used in its water heaters. And, A. O. Smith remains the only water heater manufacturer that creates its own glass coatings.  This allows A. O. Smith to integrate commercial-grade technology and components into each step of the manufacturing process for all products, including its residential models.

Available exclusively from A. O. Smith professional contractors, the commercial-grade ProLine family of residential water heaters features a wide range of models suitable for most residential applications. ProLine products are available in three categories:

  • ProLine: Commercial-grade parts and reliability.
  • ProLine Master: A new product series with high-end components, including dual stainless steel elements and increased anode protection, along with extended eight-year warranty coverage in both electric and gas models.
  • ProLine XE: Highest performance and greatest energy efficiency with alternative technologies, such as heat pump, tankless and more.

“Homeowners will instantly value the reliability and efficiency built into the ProLine family achieved by using the same technology and care as our industry-leading, commercial hot water systems,” said David Chisolm, vice president of marketing for A. O. Smith. “Our partner contractors will recognize the durable, commercial-grade components and appreciate the peace of mind A. O. Smith’s innovative manufacturing process provides – a sales-driving combination for plumbing contractors.”

All ProLine water heaters incorporate technology refined by A. O. Smith’s decades of experience in commercial water heating. Some commercial-grade features include: A. O. Smith’s Blue Diamond glass tank lining, CoreGard stainless steel core anode rods, longer-lasting stainless steel electric elements, and full-flow brass drain valves.
