Congratulations to Missy Meigs, the recipient of the Bolton Family Scholarship. This $5,000 scholarship was established in 2024 to pay tribute to the significant contributions that the Boltons have provided to the construction industry and the dedicated service they have provided to the employees of Arden Building Companies.

The scholarship honors the family’s dedicated volunteer work within the communities they serve in Rhode Island. Notably, their efforts in aiding children from Spanish and Portuguese-speaking backgrounds in mastering the English language within the school system and their improvement with the Ronald McDonald House underscore the Bolton Family’s deep-rooted commitment to serving both their employees and the broader community. The scholarship embodies the values of service, community engagement and support for those in need that have been integral to the Bolton family’s legacy.

Missy is studying construction management at Pittsburg State University and will be graduating this May. She has been a member of the student chapter at Pittsburg State University since 2024. This summer, she will start her full-time position with MCAA Member, Cerris Systems, as a Project Engineer.

“Being a part of the MCA Student Chapter at Pittsburg State University has provided me with a future career. Before joining, I was unsure of where I fit within the construction industry. Through the organization, I gained exposure to the mechanical industry where I found my last summer internship opportunity. These experiences not only provided me with lifelong connections but also secured me with a full-time position after graduation, a milestone that would not have been possible without the MCA Student Chapter and MCAKC.

"After graduation I plan to be involved with MCA KC by joining their Young Professionals Committee. I want to help students experience the same help and mentorship that I received. My goal is to encourage students who may be unsure of their purpose in the construction industry like I once was. I want students to know about the endless opportunities that are available through the MCA student chapters, as well as MCAA at the national level. MCAA has had a lasting impact on my personal and professional growth, and I am excited to share that with the next generation of students.”

MCAA and the John R. Gentille Foundation congratulate Missy on this prestigious scholarship and thank The Bolton Family for their commitment to supporting students interested in pursuing a career in the mechanical contracting industry.
