ACCA Announces ANSI Public Review Period for Manual S – 2023 Residential Equipment Selection
The Air Conditioning Contractors of America Educational Institute (ACCA-EI) Standards Task Team (STT) announces an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) public review period for proposed “addendum A” to ANSI/ACCA 3 Manual S – 2023, Residential Equipment Selection as a revised industry standard.
The 30-day ANSI public review period started on Dec. 29, 2023 with a comment deadline of Jan. 28, 2024. The proposed addendum A will supplement ANSI/ACCA 3 Manual S – 2023.
The proposed addendum will correct and clarify certain requirements in the 2023 edition of Manual S. The standard provides procedures for selecting and sizing residential heating, cooling, dehumidification and humidification equipment.
The public review draft contains the following proposed revisions to the Normative Sections of Manual S:
Section N1 – Definitions and General Requirements
Section N2 – Equipment Size Limits
Section N3 – OEM Verification Path
