To support the growing demand for fire safety contractor training, Uponor North America has recently revamped the former AquaSAFE Level I classroom and Level II job-site training into one comprehensive, online qualification program via Uponor Academy Online.
The training, which focuses on the NFPA 13D standard for installations in one- and two-family homes, is available on-demand to meet the needs of busy professionals in today’s home construction market.
“New-home construction is at an accelerated pace, and jurisdictions around the country continue to mandate residential fire sprinklers. Additionally, COVID-19 has placed restrictions on in-person learning,” said Desmond Clancy, director, Uponor Training. “This new, on-demand, online training program is the solution customers require to keep their businesses competitive in a tight market, while overcoming all these hurdles we are facing daily.”
Key learnings from the qualification program include system types, water-supply requirements, design layouts, materials, installation best practices, testing, and maintenance. The program also covers support information, including estimation and designs from Uponor Construction Services.
Cost for the new online qualification training is $199 for licensed plumbing contractors and fire safety professionals. After completing the six-part program, attendees receive a qualification certificate that satisfies any manufacturer training required by state or local authorities.
