IAPMO Promotes Tony Marcello, D.J. Nunez and Christopher Lindsay 2

The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) has announced the promotions of Tony Marcello to senior vice president of Training and Credentialing Services, D.J. Nunez to senior vice president of Field Services, and Christopher Lindsay to vice president of Government Relations.

"We are fortunate to be able to promote these highly qualified, knowledgeable people to these senior positions within our organization," IAPMO CEO Dave Viola said. "IAPMO is well positioned to cement our status as a leader in the plumbing and mechanical industries for years to come. Congratulations, Tony, D.J. and Christopher."

Marcello has been part of The IAPMO Group for more than a decade and feels very fortunate to have been a part of the organization's growth. Prior to starting his career at IAPMO he worked in both the association and the technology industry for several companies and as a consultant. In his previous IAPMO roles, Marcello worked diligently toward the growth of IAPMO's core training and credentialing and license testing programs. In his new role, he will oversee all global training and credentialing programs and initiatives for The IAPMO Group.

"IAPMO has provided me a great opportunity over the years to help serve the industry by providing top-tier programs that provide the skills and credentials needed to help improve careers, provide employment opportunities, and improve the quality of work that impacts building occupants," Marcello said. "I am genuinely excited about continuing to build upon those efforts and the growth the various training and credentialing programs offered by The IAPMO Group have experienced as these programs move forward as a single unit."

Nunez joined IAPMO in January 2020 as a Field Services representative after 19 years with the state of California, starting as a plumbing and mechanical inspector and retiring as the Southern California area manager for the Construction Inspection Management Division. He served on IAPMO's Board of Directors for 13 years, including as president in 2017 and 2018. He is a 36-year member of UA Local 460 and worked in the plumbing and mechanical industry for 18 years.

"Being an IAPMO member since 2003 and experiencing the growth and diversification of this organization has been incredible," Nunez said. "I am truly honored to be a part of the IAPMO family and embrace the opportunity to lead our dedicated and hard-charging field managers, as we will be expanding our presence in the industry to continue the important work being done in protecting the health and safety of the nation. We look forward to the challenges ahead as we transition out of this pandemic under the direction of our new CEO, Dave Viola."

Lindsay has been with IAPMO since 2012 and is a key member of a team that provides a strong voice for IAPMO's interests before Congress, federal and state agencies, and state legislatures. In 2019, he helped IAPMO earn the President's "E" Award for Export Service after securing a federal grant intended to increase the competitiveness of the U.S. plumbing supply industry abroad by generating exports to Indonesia. Lindsay also assists IAPMO's nonprofit organization, the International Water Sanitation and Hygiene Foundation (IWSH), which supports critical water, sanitation and hygiene initiatives worldwide.

"It has been an honor to work at IAPMO," Lindsay said. "Over the past decade, IAPMO's Government Relations team has established itself as a trusted resource for policy makers on the state, federal and international levels. Through our work, we have expanded access to water and sanitation services, helped build a stronger workforce, and promoted the trade of safe, efficient products. I look forward to continuing to help communities have access to safe drinking water and build their resiliency against the challenges that lie ahead."
