The new ASSE/IAPMO/ANSI Series 27000-2022, Professional Qualifications Standard for Hybrid Fire Extinguishing Systems Personnel, has been designated as an American National Standard by ANSI, and is now available for purchase.

To simulate a real-life, interactive experience of the voluntary consensus standards process, ANSI will host a virtual workshop for new and emerging professionals on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, from 1:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m. ET via Zoom.

As the U.S. member body to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), ANSI is seeking comments on a proposal for a new ISO technical committee on natural gas fueling stations for vehicles.

Canadian regulators, consumers, and other professionals with technical background in plumbing and mechanical systems, are requested to provide comments by no later than Jan. 11.

The ASSE Series 12000 sets minimum criteria for the training and certification of pipe trades craftspeople, and other construction and maintenance personnel, on how to safely work in environments with potentially deadly diseases.

ASSE developed the Series 15000 in 2015 to establish minimum qualifications for professionals performing the inspection, testing and maintenance of water-based fire protection systems.
