ANSI is pleased to announce that it will celebrate the recipients of its 2020-2021 Leadership and Service Awards with an in-person ceremony, reception, and dinner during World Standards Week.

Admiral William H. McRaven, USN (Ret.) to provide keynote on leadership.

The month-long celebration in May includes free educational events open to the public.

The strategy requires the use of current codes across all FEMA programs, and commits to incentivizing adoption and implementation of hazard-resistant codes.

ASHRAE, along with other key international organizations, has launched an initiative to advance career opportunities for women in the cooling sector.

Manning will oversee codes and standards development as well as architectural and engineering services at the Code Council.

The provision makes $225 million available over the next five years to state agencies and partnerships to help drive the cost-effective implementation of building energy codes for improved efficiency and resilience. 

The new standard is modeled off the International Code Council's International Property Maintenance Code.

In partnership with Bank of America, the program has provided more than $2 million to accelerate action on climate change, resilience, and social equity through LEED for Cities certification.

Together, DOE estimates the new codes and proposed standards can potentially save more than $15 billion in net costs over the next 30 years.
