Luxury Products Group (LPG), a leading buying group serving independent decorative plumbing and hardware showrooms, brought together representatives from 16 supplier partners for its Vendor Best Practice Meeting in Nashville, Tennessee, Nov. 2–3. The event provided a unique forum for open dialogue, collaboration, and strategic planning aimed at strengthening relationships and accelerating sales growth in 2027 and beyond.
Under the theme "Let's Grow Together," the meeting departed from traditional presentation-driven conferences, instead emphasizing candid discussions, shared experiences, and actionable strategies to create greater value for LPG suppliers, showroom members, and their customers.
A central focus was the evolving marketplace, with participants examining current economic conditions, regional differences, and trends across various market segments. These conversations provided valuable perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing independent showrooms and manufacturers throughout the country.
Strengthening the Role of Independent Sales Agencies
One of the meeting's key discussions centered on expanding the involvement of independent sales agencies within the LPG community. Participants explored opportunities for agencies to become more active partners in driving sales, strengthening showroom relationships, and connecting LPG suppliers with architects, interior designers, contractors, and other industry professionals.
By creating stronger connections between suppliers, showrooms, and independent representatives, LPG aims to develop a more coordinated approach to market development, product education, and business growth.
Reimagining the Value of Industry Events
The group also explored ways to further enhance the annual LPG EXPO, positioning it as a valuable, relationship-focused alternative to large industry trade shows such as KBIS.
Participants emphasized the advantages of a more intimate environment where suppliers and showroom members can engage in meaningful conversations, explore business opportunities, and develop lasting relationships.
Beyond traditional networking, discussions highlighted the importance of creating memorable shared experiences that foster personal connections, build trust, and ultimately strengthen long-term business partnerships.
A Shared Commitment to Growth
"Our greatest strength as a group is the relationships we build between our suppliers, showroom members, and sales agencies," said Jeff MacDowell, executive director of Luxury Products Group. "Bringing 16 supplier partners together for honest, open discussions demonstrates our shared commitment to growing together. When we collaborate, exchange ideas, and truly understand each other's challenges and opportunities, we create an environment where everyone can succeed. That's what LPG is all about."
The Nashville meeting reinforced LPG's commitment to fostering a collaborative community where supplier partnerships extend beyond traditional buying group relationships, creating meaningful opportunities for innovation, engagement, and sustainable growth.
