The National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA), a world-leading leading trade association for the kitchen and bath industry, representing nearly 55,000 North American kitchen and bath industry professionals, has begun a search for leaders across design, product innovation, material invention, sustainability, and business acumen to induct into The 2027 Kitchen and Bath Industry Hall of Fame. The 2027 edition debuts a media partnership with LUXE Interiors + Design, one of America's largest residential architecture and design media brand, as well as restructuring the nomination process for the awards program.

“For nearly four decades, the Kitchen & Bath Hall of Fame has recognized the visionaries whose innovations have shaped virtually every American home. Their contributions have transformed the kitchen and bath sector into today’s thriving, design-driven industry,” said Bill Darcy, global president and CEO of NKBA. “Our partnership with LUXE ensures that legacy is recognized where it matters most: within the design world and the broader cultural conversation.”

This year, LUXE Editor in Chief Jill Cohen will chair the Selection Committee, composed of individuals who elevate the prestige of the awards and bring relevant expertise in the field. Nominations will be evaluated across the individual’s core impact and achievements, industry vision, sustainability, mentorship and character, legacy, and recent milestones. The NKBA is also accepting nominations directly via nkba.org.

Inductees will be celebrated on stage with Cohen at the Design + Industry Awards Ceremony. The ceremony is an annual highlight of the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS), North America's largest and most prestigious trade show dedicated to all aspects of kitchen and bath design, and will take place on Feb. 1, 2027. In addition, the 2027 Hall of Fame class will be honored across all editions of LUXE in the March/April 2027 issue.

Since 1989, the NKBA Hall of Fame has annually recognized the innovators, designers, creators, and business executives who have made a transformational impact on the kitchen and bath industry and overall home design. Notable past inductees have included Alfred Moen, the inventor of the single-handle mixing faucet; Roy Jacuzzi, whose name became synonymous with luxury baths; Herbert V. Kohler Jr., the visionary who turned the American bathroom into a destination for bold color and design; Ronald L. Mace, FAIA, who spearheaded the term and philosophy of “universal design”; and Fu-Tung Cheng, who pioneered concrete as a kitchen material.
