IAPMO successfully led the U.S.–Indonesia Plumbing Trade Mission that brought together senior officials from Indonesia's National Standardization Agency (BSN), Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Public Works, utilities, IAPMO clients, and technical experts alongside representatives from the U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. Department of State, U.S. Embassy Jakarta, and leading U.S. plumbing manufacturers.
The mission represented the first time these key Indonesian ministries met collectively with U.S. government and industry leaders to discuss a coordinated approach to strengthening plumbing product standards, conformity assessment, workforce development, and drinking water safety.
The mission also advanced implementation of the APEC Plumbing Regulatory Roadmap and established a framework for continued collaboration to address counterfeit and nonconforming plumbing products, promote internationally recognized conformity assessment systems, and strengthen regulatory transparency. The engagement further positioned IAPMO as a trusted technical advisor to both governments while creating new opportunities to expand recognition of IAPMO's standards, certification, and technical expertise throughout Southeast Asia.
