Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) Adult and Community Education (ACE) is now accepting registrations for its Fall 2026 Apprenticeship programs in Electrical, HVAC, and Plumbing. Classes begin the week of Sept. 8, 2026, offering an affordable pathway to industry-recognized credentials and rewarding careers in the skilled trades.

Designed for both new and current trades professionals, FCPS ACE Apprenticeship programs combine expert classroom instruction with structured on-the-job training to help apprentices develop in-demand skills while earning a paycheck. Evening classes allow students to continue working while completing their required related technical instruction, and a live, virtual-only section of Electrical Level 1 offers additional flexibility for students outside of Northern Virginia or who prefer to attend remotely.

As demand for skilled trade professionals continues to grow, apprenticeship training provides a proven path to career advancement, higher earning potential, and long-term job security. Employers who sponsor apprentices benefit from improved employee retention and a stronger talent pipeline.

Following the program's May 26 scholarship announcement, 18 students have already been awarded $1,000 scholarships toward apprenticeship classes. Additional scholarships remain available, with applications being accepted through August 15, 2026.

"Cost should never be the reason someone postpones building a better future," said FCPS ACE Career Counselor Bob Sargent. "Our financial aid options help students build rewarding careers while providing local businesses with a highly trained workforce."

Enrollment is now open. Class sizes are limited and courses fill quickly. Early registration is encouraged.
