Porter Pipe & Supply, a family-owned and -operated PVF distributor headquartered in Addison, Illinois, celebrated the grand opening of its seventh location on Aug. 1 — a newly built, 180,000-square-foot facility in DeForest (Madison), Wisconsin. With seven locations across the Midwest, Porter Pipe is known for expert logistics, exceptional service and values-driven support to help its partners grow and succeed.

The celebration drew hundreds of team members, customers, vendor partners and members of both the Madison and Porter Pipe communities for a heartfelt event that honored the company’s core values: faith, family, excellence, integrity, safety and fun.

As a multigenerational business, several family members are actively involved in daily operations. “This is more than just a building — it’s a continuation of a calling placed on our family nearly 50 years ago,” said Stephanie Porter Bodziach, director of marketing and third-generation family shareholder. “We’re incredibly proud to expand our footprint into Madison and even prouder to celebrate this achievement with the people who helped make it possible.”

President Bud Porter reflected on the company’s legacy, tracing its roots to their father’s vision in 1976. “At age 50, our dad took a risk that brought us here today — seven locations strong and still guided by his values,” he shared.

The new facility currently stocks 15,000 SKUs, including 24-inch and down steel pipe, 12-inch and down stainless, and 16-inch and down PVC. As operations ramp up, the 180,000-square-foot space will be fully stocked with the company’s complete product offering. Nightly transfers to Madison support next-day distribution, and six boom trucks run daily. The site also offers Porter Pipe’s signature value-added services, including boom truck deliveries, materials handling, an online store and end preparation.

The facility also includes an impressive pickup counter area, and large training and meeting room, reinforcing the company’s investment in team development.

The ribbon-cutting was led by Bill Zaborowski, a 29-year Porter Pipe veteran and outside sales representatives, who relocated his family to Madison to help Porter Pipe establish its Wisconsin roots. CEO Nick Porter emphasized the significance of the milestone: “This marks our first ever ground-up, new construction facility. It’s a symbol of long-term commitment to our people, our customers, and our vendor partners. Our goal is to remain 100% family owned and operated for the next 100 years.”

The event was supported by many of the company’s manufacturing partners, who sponsored food and beverage stations featuring Chicago-style hot dogs, tacos, oven-roasted pizza, gelato, hand-rolled cigars, and a whiskey and champagne bar. A new ATV, generously donated by industry partners, was raffled off to a Porter Pipe customer.

As the company continues to grow, Porter Pipe remains focused on exceptional service and investing in its people, communities and partners. The Madison location reflects a geographic expansion — and a deeper commitment to building a better future, together.
