Trinity Hunt Partners, a growth-oriented private equity firm, announced its commercial HVAC platform, NexCore, completed its ninth and tenth acquisitions in just over two years, partnering with Action Air Systems and Accutemp Engineering, both leading providers of commercial HVAC services in the Northeast. The acquisitions expand NexCore’s presence in New England, adding operations in Connecticut and Massachusetts.

Over the past 18 months, NexCore has also grown its executive team through the additions of Brian Nienstedt as chief development officer, Brandt Walker as chief operating officer, and Al Rollins as chief human resources officer. Together with CEO Steve Knowles, the management team is building a national leader in the commercial HVAC industry, leveraging expertise in scaling service-based businesses.

“As NexCore eclipses its two-year anniversary, we’re thrilled to welcome the Action Air and Accutemp teams to the platform, whose commitment to their customers and employees alike aligns exactly with what we’re building,” Knowles said. “Our partnership with Trinity Hunt has been instrumental in accelerating NexCore’s growth strategy, enabling investments in people, processes, and technology that enhance our service capabilities. Collectively, we remain focused on maintaining our industry-leading workplace culture that we consider foundational to our success.”

Action Air is a full-service mechanical contractor specializing in commercial HVAC and plumbing, with more than 35 years of experience serving customers in Connecticut. Founded in 1978, Accutemp provides HVAC services to its customer base throughout Massachusetts. The addition of both companies brings NexCore to more than 800 employees, serving thousands of commercial clients across diverse sectors nationwide.

As the platform continues to scale, NexCore’s leadership team remains committed to building upon the legacies of its partner companies to become the service provider, employer and acquirer of choice in the industry. Nienstedt, chief development officer, brings more than 15 years of M&A experience, previously serving as vice president of corporate development at Sweeping Corporation of America. Walker, chief operating officer, has a strong track record in growing commercial service organizations, drawing on his experience as chief growth officer of Sunworks Landscape Partners. Rollins, chief human resources officer, plays a pivotal role in developing a people-first culture during this period of rapid expansion.

“NexCore’s success in partnering with both high-quality businesses and executives demonstrates the platform’s ability to establish a strong foothold in a highly fragmented industry,” said Garrett Greer, partner at Trinity Hunt. “Action Air and Accutemp’s profound company cultures exemplify the type of exceptional partners we hope to continue to attract as we seek to better serve our growing customer base.”
