Zurn Elkay Water Solutions, supplier of cleaner water solutions for drinking water, hygiene and sustainable water management, has announced a 50% increase in pipe production capacity.

The Zurn PEX team has been working hard upgrading pipe manufacturing capabilities in its facilities in both Erie, Pennsylvania and Commerce, Texas.

Scott Spindler, general manager of Zurn PEX, shared, “I am proud of our team for increasing our PEX manufacturing capacity by over 50% through increasing operational efficiencies, upgrading current equipment, and commissioning new equipment. This new capacity will help ensure we have the service levels our customers want, keeping up with their demand.”

Zurn manufactures non-barrier tubing for potable water and barrier tubing for hydronic heating and cooling, allowing for various use cases.

“The popularity of our PEX in the overall plumbing market continues to grow, and we are seeing especially strong growth with our expansion PEX product offering,” said Patrick Sauer, director of sales and product management. "Our custom engineered PEX formulation allows one pipe to serve both crimp and expansion needs, so the additional capacity we added to make more pipe is critical to our growth and success going forward.”
