Edmonton Construction Association Elevates Skilled Trades with Relaunch of the TradesLink App.jpg

The Edmonton Construction Association (ECA) proudly announces the acquisition and successful relaunch revitalization of the TradesLink app. TradesLink is a social media app and community platform designed specifically for tradespeople. After its purchase in 2023, the ECA worked on enhancing the platform to better serve the needs of tradespeople, bringing the refreshed TradesLink app back to market in 2024.

By fostering a dedicated digital community, TradesLink aims to bridge the gap between trades professionals and employers. This platform can enhance visibility for job opportunities, facilitate networking, and enable skill sharing among tradespeople. By providing a space for networking, mentorship and professional development, TradesLink can contribute to raising the profile of trades careers, attracting new talent to the industry, and helping to alleviate the skilled labor shortage in Canada.

TradesLink has undergone significant improvements to better align with the evolving needs of the construction sector.

Key highlights of the TradesLink relaunch include the following:

Enhanced User Experience: The TradesLink app now boasts a revamped user interface and improved functionality, ensuring a seamless experience for both trades professionals and employers. The refreshed design makes it more intuitive and engaging. The addition of the ‘Crew’ feature will allow users to create and participate in a variety of groups specific to their interests, experience, education, or trade, among other categories.

Industry-Specific Features: The platform offers features that address the unique challenges and opportunities within sectors that rely on skilled labour. TradesLink serves as a central hub for both tradespeople and firms, providing a dedicated space for networking, collaboration, and labour.

Skills Improvement Resources: The platform now offers a skill improvement resource, where users can share tips & tricks as well as illustrating best practices for knowledge exchange. This commitment to continuous learning aligns with ECA's dedication to excellence and innovation.

David Johnson, president at ECA, expressed excitement about the relaunch, stating, "The acquisition and revitalization of TradesLink signifies our dedication to advancing skilled trades as a career of choice while supporting the industry with an innovative digital platform dedicated to the skilled trades workforce. We believe that TradesLink, will serve as a catalyst for collaboration, learning, and excellence within our community."

The Edmonton Construction Association, founded on the principles of integrity, leadership, quality, and value, remains committed to driving innovation and excellence within the construction industry. The relaunch of the TradesLink app stands as a testament to ECA's ongoing efforts to elevate the skilled trades and foster a connected and thriving industry.
