Contractors File $5 Million in Liens Against Trump’s D.C. Hotel

January 6, 2017

The liens were filed in November and December, according to public records. The hotel opened in October.

Washington plumbing and heating firm, Joseph J. Magnolia Inc., says it's owed $2.98 million for work done for Donald Trump’s new Washington, D.C., hotel.

But that’s just part of the $5 million in liens various trades have filed against the 263-room hotel, located just blocks from the White House, in the city’s former main post office.

Other companies claiming they’re owed money by Trump Old Post Office LLC include a Maryland company, AES Electrical Inc., which says it’s owed $2.075 million and A&D Construction of Virginia LLC, which says the hotel hasn’t paid $79,700 for trim work including crown and base moldings.

The liens were filed in November and December, according to public records. The hotel opened in October.
