TDIndustries Enhances Safety with Mobile Medics, and Safety App SmartTagIt

TDIndustries Inc. (TD) embraces the Safety Week 2021 objective to “Be Present, Be Focused, and Be Safe" on and off job sites. TD’s safety culture is recognized industrywide for its innovative use of technology and best practices to keep TD Partners safe in the field and in life. These achievements are supported by ongoing attention to training and safe behaviors every day.

TD recently introduced mobile medic support for job sites, offering efficient first-aid support, COVID-19 testing and more for partners. TD leads the construction industry in introducing this critical service, showing both its investment in Partner well-being and its commitment to safety for all partners, customers and stakeholders.

"TD embraces Safety Week and always sees great participation from partners," said TD Director of Safety Jamie Dabbs. "It is a perfect time to focus on specific safety topics that better prepare us to enter the busiest and hottest part of the year, while recognizing top safety performers, and learning safety skills.”

During Safety Week, TD will host "Job Site Safety Meetings" each day outlining and educating on the following topics:

  • Monday, May 3 – Heat Protection
  • Tuesday, May 4 – Mental Health Safety
  • Wednesday, May 5 – Heights & Fall Protection
  • Thursday, May 6 – Fire Safety & Evacuation
  • Friday, May 7 – Job Site Housekeeping

TD Partners are required to complete training hours each year to develop new skills in their field. Roughly 60 percent of all TD training hours are for safety training and education. Since 2019, TD’s safety team has partnered with application developer SmartTagIt by using the real-time safety app that offers field leaders and workers easy access to pre-task safety plans and information regarding inspections, safety observations, etc.

"We have a great partnership with TDIndustries and are proud to work closely with them on projects,” said Tim Kuykendall, director of safety for The Beck Group. "Not only do we rely on them to provide services in a timely manner with exceptional quality, we lean on TD to support our safety culture and ensure all workers on our project have a safe working environment. Their dedication to on-site safety, support around safety culture and investment in technology are the backbone to their world-class safety performance.”

TD is committed to fiercely protecting the safety of all partners and customers. See what steps TD is taking to protect individuals and their businesses at tdindustries.com/about/safety.
