Previously I’ve written about the ever- present divisiveness on just about every subject. No longer do we debate to a conclusion where we just “agree to disagree.” 

I struggle with articulating this particular thought for fear of its misinterpretation. It goes something like this: Why does everybody seem to care so passionately about everything?

Aesop has a parable of the goose that laid the golden egg, which has resulted in a number of iterations.

I open the New Year drawing from Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Karr, who suggested: “Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose.” 

In my previous column (The Great Resignation, July 2022, https://bit.ly/3vBj0dI), I wrote of the passion for, and importance of this thing they call work. 

While media outlets reported 68.9 million people left their jobs in 2021, 75 million people started new jobs. 

In the year ahead, let’s be the leaders that we are expected to be. Let us demonstrate our conviction, confidence, character and, above all else, compassion.
