Contractors for the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) digging in the Maryland suburbs to install a new water line found a 6-inch wooden water pipe, buried around 1915.
The pipe, which is made out of of slats of wood, is wrapped in reinforcing steel wire.
