Corrosion Free Water Piping with Zinc Ionization Technology

JH RustScale Ionizer

Water leak related damages in buildings can be very costly, and are usually caused by the corrosion of the water pipeline. Failure to proactively address these latent issues may even shorten the lifespan of a building. Once the damage has occurred, the conventional remedies of simply replacing the existing pipeline or using chemical treatment can prove to be expensive.

The problem

Most modern buildings have galvanized steel pipe used in their water distributing systems. These steel piping systems have inherent problems, including rust and plaque buildup, which cause water pressure problems and eventual pipe failure. The corrosion problems limit the useful life span of the pipe.

Galvanized pipe is steel or iron pipe with zinc coating, which prevents corrosive substances from reaching the underlying steel or iron. Over time, as the protective zinc coating is worn away, the pipe becomes vulnerable to attack such as oxidization – rust. In some cases, there isn’t a zinc coating at all, and those pipes are more vulnerable to oxidization.

The solution

Zinc Ionizer Technology (JH RustScale Ionizer), which is patented in 63 countries, was invented in Germany 20 years ago. The cutting-edge technology of this physical water treatment system not only prevents oxidization, it also removes the existing rust. To date, 400,000 units have been installed worldwide and the effectiveness has been proved.

By specifying JH RustScale Ionizer in the design phase, a water piping system will be kept from corrosion for 20 years without any maintenance. It replaces traditional treatments such as expensive re-piping and chemical treatment, providing the control of corrosion in various water process systems for buildings, municipalities and households. This drastically improves the lifespan and the health of the buildings.

The features & benefits

The zinc anode inside JH RustScale Ionizer has a higher ionization than iron. Essentially, the zinc is ionized faster than an iron pipe, and the zinc ions absorb the oxygen in the water before the iron pipe ions make contact with oxygen, which leads to the prevention of the oxidization.

It also helps transform rust to magnetite. The electrons emitted from the JH RustScale Ionizer interacts with red rust (Fe2O3) to transform into hard black magnetite (Fe3O4), which is coated inside the pipes and makes them stronger.

It prevents water leaks. The magnetite (Fe3O4), which is coated inside the pipe, prevents water leaks and seals the existing small leaks. It dramatically extends the lifespan of pipes and keeps the piping system clean.

In general, scale is formed when inorganic substances such as calcium, magnesium or silicate in the water attach to the inside of water pipe and then harden. Zinc ions from the JH RustScale Ionizer are dissolved in the water, then convert scale formation ions into spherical structure, and the condensation of positive and negative ions by electrostatic contraction prevents and removes the scale.

Slime, which is a viscous substance produced by the combination of inorganic and organic matter (bacteria) in the water, attaches to the interior of the pipe, which causes the bacteria to multiply and the deterioration of the water quality. The zinc complex (Zn(H2O)2+, formed with the combination of zinc ions and water, removes the water slime and at the same time prevents the slime from occurring in new water. It drastically improves the quality of the drinking water by inhibiting the bacteria growth in the pipe.

The JH RustScale Ionizer can be applied to a water treatment device/system to prevent and remove rust, scale and slime in the water pipe without additional chemicals or external electricity.  To find out more, visit www.jh-waterway.com.
