Comedians turn to plumbing business

August 1, 2015

Demarcus Murray (clockwise from lower left) and comedians Johno Cain, Brian Kerns and Alex Moore own Right Now Plumbing.

Did you hear the one about the plumber who wasn’t on time?

So did the owners of Right Now Plumbing, a new Fredericksburg, Virginia-based business that wants to change the way plumbing services are offered. The owners also happen to be comedians.

Owners Alex Moore, Johno Cain and Brian Kerns met during a comedy tour, but now work to keep the Fredericksburg region’s plumbing systems in order. The fourth owner, Demarcus Murray, came on board later.

Moore and Kerns met in 2008 at the Comedy Store in Los Angeles but started their “Jokeslingers” comedy tour in 2012 and set on a path toward Fredericksburg. The third comic in the tour, Adam Dodd, is from the area and introduced Moore and Kerns to the opportunities here. Cain eventually joined the tour as an opener and technician.
