Comfort Air Distributing (CAD), the Rheem Distributor for Colorado and Wyoming, is celebrating it’s 30th year in Denver. In 1987 Jim O’Mara, CAD President, approached Rheem with a proposal to make a full distributorship. Later that year the new distributorship was awarded and O’Mara, along with his father Jerry, opened a warehouse. In the early 1990s, Dave Schrock joined the company and was later appointed executive vice president.

Under the leadership of O’Mara and Schrock the HVAC wholesaler initiated a marketing campaign for contractors under the umbrella ‘Rheem Team.’

CAD soon needed to expand and opened branches in Colorado Springs, Centennial and also added a satellite office in northern Colorado.

O’Mara credited the CAD team and customer base for the company’s growth and success: “I think we have the most knowledgeable team in the industry that is very customer centric and our customers appreciate that. We owe a great debt of gratitude to our customers and suppliers who have been loyal to us over the years and we look forward to serving them in the next 30 years.
