Hutchinson, Kan. – Superior Boiler Technologies Inc., announced that it has acquired the business assets of Triad Boiler Systems based in West Chicago, Ill. The transaction was effective close of business on December 31, 2014.
Superior Holding, parent company to Superior Boiler Technologies and Superior Boiler Works, will continue to manufacture and sell products under the Triad Boiler brand name and intends to relocate Triad to its facilities in Hutchinson, Kan. Ken Womack, owner and President of Triad Boiler Systems, will join Superior Holding as Vice President of Business Development.
“Triad Boiler Systems is a great fit into the product portfolio of Superior’s offerings, and this acquisition will provide new growth avenues for us going forward,” said Superior Boiler Works CEO Doug Wright. “Triad’s vertical firetube boiler products in both steam and hot water are known for their high quality and reliability – the same reputation by which Superior’s products are known in the marketplace.”
Womack’s addition to Superior’s management team is a huge plus in the transaction, Wright said, because his leadership and management skills will provide guidance the company needs to ensure growth of the product line over the next few years.
Womack will be tasked with building and developing a sales distribution network throughout the U.S. and certain international markets for Superior’s commercial products division, which will include Triad Boiler’s products and Superior’s high-efficiency condensing boiler products. Superior will leverage the best performers from both Superior and Triad as the company moves forward.
Superior Boiler Technologies will transition Triad Boiler manufacturing operations from Illinois to Kansas over the next few months. The company anticipates using existing Triad Boiler suppliers and sales distribution networks during the transition process.
In additional news, Superior Holding Inc., announced its opening of Oklahoma Boiler Equipment, a sales support company. The new Oklahoma City-based sales arm joins Superior Boiler Technologies Inc., and Superior Boiler Works Inc., under the Superior Holding company umbrella.
John Hobart Jr., will lead Oklahoma Boiler Equipment as Director of Sales. Hobart previously worked for Superior Boiler Works, a Hutchinson, Kan., manufacturer of Scotch Marine firetube boilers for more than 60 years, and rejoins the company from a Texas-based boiler service firm. Oklahoma Boiler Equipment expects to hire additional technical sales employees over the next two to three years.
“As an OEM with a wide portfolio of products for the boiler market, we will offer sales and engineering support that benefits end customers in Oklahoma,” said Superior's Wright. “Oklahoma Boiler Equipment will offer a portfolio of quality equipment not only from Superior Boiler Works, but also from other industry-leading manufacturers. We believe there is tremendous growth potential in the Oklahoma market and that end customers will like having convenient access to high-quality service expertise and equipment.”
Oklahoma Boiler Equipment will offer a full line of boiler manufacturers’ products to support the entire boiler room equipment market. The office will serve mechanical contractors, engineering firms and other customers throughout Oklahoma.
