Every day, the Los Angeles Mission serves more than 1,000 people, providing showers, meals, restrooms, and access to clean water for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
But aging plumbing systems with frequent leaks, drainage backups, and inefficient fixtures are putting those critical services at risk.
IWSH, the public charity of IAPMO, is mobilizing skilled volunteer plumbers for an IWSH Community Plumbing Challenge to address critical repairs, upgrade the Mission's aging toilets, sinks, and showers, and improve system performance throughout the main building. Every upgrade will prioritize water efficiency, code compliance, and long-term durability.
