The American Fire Sprinkler Association (AFSA) will host its final NFPA 25 Fire Pump Workshop of the year on May 6–7 at AFSA’s Playground, offering hands-on training designed for professionals responsible for fire pump inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM).
Built for ITM technicians, authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs), and facility managers, the two-day course focuses on the practical application of requirements outlined in NFPA 25, the standard for inspection, testing, and maintenance of water-based fire protection systems.
While understanding the requirements is essential, applying them effectively in the field is equally important. This workshop provides participants with real-world training in AFSA’s lab, where attendees will conduct no-flow and full-flow fire pump tests, compare diesel- and electric-driven pumps, collect and graph performance data, and learn how to confidently interpret test results.
The course is designed to strengthen diagnostic skills and equip participants with practical knowledge they can immediately apply in the field.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
- Identify operational differences and maintenance considerations for fire pump types
- Conduct NFPA 25 fire pump tests and interpret results
- Explain ITM requirements for tanks supporting fire protection systems
- Collect and analyze pump test data, including supply graphing and performance trends

Participants will earn the following credits:
- CPDs: 16
- CEUs: 1.6
- Contact Hours: 16
