The Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) has partnered with Solstice Advanced Materials, a global leader in low-GWP refrigerant technology.
Solstice has invested over $1 billion in research, development, and manufacturing capacity for its Solstice HFO refrigerant portfolio — technology designed to help contractors transition to lower-carbon solutions while delivering superior performance. The company’s refrigerants serve critical HVACR applications, including supermarkets, cold storage, food processing, chillers, heat pumps, and comfort cooling and heating systems.
“As contractors navigate A2L requirements and GWP limits, they need partners who understand both the science and realities of refrigerant transitions,” said Barton James, ACCA president and CEO. “We applaud Solstice’s support of our contractor members, and are excited to see how they will bring proven refrigerant solutions and technical expertise to help our members comply with regulations without sacrificing system performance or profitability.”
Solstice’s refrigerant lineup includes solutions for new installations and retrofits alike. Products like Solstice L40X (R-455A) and Solstice N40 (R-448A) offer contractors lower-GWP alternatives that demonstrate improved energy efficiency and system performance compared to the higher-GWP refrigerants they replace. The company’s portfolio is backed by over 5,700 patents and pending applications and supported by approximately 4,000 employees serving customers in more than 120 countries. Solstice was created through the 2025 spin-off of the former Advanced Materials business of Honeywell International Inc.
“Contractors are on the front lines of the refrigerant transition,” said Chad Holzer, VPGM Refrigerants at Solstice Advanced Materials. “Our partnership with ACCA connects us directly with the professionals who need safe, reliable and compliant refrigerant solutions combined with the technical support to implement them successfully.”
Through its Strategic Partner Program, ACCA connects industry leaders with contractors to advance the HVACR profession and support business growth.
