BainUltra, a premier Canadian designer and manufacturer of therapeutic bathtubs for the residential and hospitality markets is proud to announce that its Lunessa freestanding bathtub has been honored with a 2025 GOOD DESIGN Award, one of the most respected global accolades in design. Presented by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, GOOD DESIGN is the world’s oldest and most recognized program for design excellence.

Founded in 1950 by design legends Eero Saarinen and Charles and Ray Eames, the GOOD DESIGN Awards celebrate innovative industrial, product, and graphic design worldwide. This year, the program received a record number of submissions from over 55 countries, representing many of the world’s leading manufacturers and design firms. In its 75th year, the jury selected over 1,100 products for recognition; distinguishing designs that exemplify sustainability, superior craftsmanship, and exceptional functionality.

“We are honored that Lunessa has been recognized by GOOD DESIGN,” said Jean-Michel Lebeau, CEO of BainUltra. “Too often, beautiful tubs sacrifice function and functional tubs sacrifice beauty. Lunessa shows that neither compromise is necessary. We wanted a bathtub safe enough for anyone to use independently, beautiful enough that no one would guess that was the priority. Lunessa is both."

The Lunessa bathtub pairs sculptural architectural form with purposeful engineering. Its fluid silhouette is inspired by the serenity of lunar light, yet every detail serves the bather: a generous deck with discreetly integrated safety grips for stable entry and exit, a deep bathing well for full-body immersion, and sculpted armrests that provide real ergonomic support. Lunessa reflects BainUltra’s dedication to craftsmanship, wellness, and creating a restorative bathing experience designed for every body type, not just every bathroom.
