ASPE Announces Recipients of 2022 Alfred Steele Scholarship

Each year, the American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE) awards up to $3,000 in scholarship monies to help upcoming industry professionals earn their degrees. The scholarship is named in honor of Alfred Steele, PE, a long-time member of ASPE, and a visionary and pioneer in advocating education and professional development for plumbing engineers and designers.

This year, the following three scholarships were awarded:

  • Javier C. Rodriguez, son of Chicago Chapter member Javier Rodriguez, CPD, received $2,000 to pursue a degree in Architectural Engineering at the Illinois Institute of Technology.
  • Kevin Inman, a member of the Oklahoma Chapter, received $1,000 to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Tulsa.
  • Nathan Franklin, a member of the Oklahoma Chapter, received $1,000 to pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering at Oklahoma State University.

ASPE will begin accepting applications for the 2023 Alfred Steele Scholarship later this year. To be eligible, a student must: be an ASPE member or the spouse or child of an ASPE member; have a GPA of 3.0 or higher; be in or plan to attend a college, university, or technical school on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 credit hours); and be enrolled in an engineering program.
