ACCA Maintenance of Commercial Refrigeration Systems Standard out for review

January 1, 2015

ARLINGTON, Va. — The Air Conditioning Contractors of America Educational Institute (ACCA-EI) Standards Task Team (STT) announced an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) public review period for its BSR/ACCA 14 QMref -201x, “Quality Maintenance of Commercial Refrigeration Systems” as a revised industry standard.

The 45-day public review period started on January 2, with a comment deadline of February 16. This new standard prescribes inspection tasks and offers recommended corrective actions to maintain commonly installed commercial refrigeration equipment and systems found in supermarkets, convenience stores, refrigerated warehouses, etc. Equipment checklists are provided by equipment type and detail the minimum visual inspections, performance tests, measurements, and component evaluations.

ACCA is a non-profit association serving more than 60,000 professionals and 4,000 businesses in the indoor environmental and energy services community. Founded more than 40 years ago, today ACCA sets the standards for quality comfort systems, provides leading-edge education for contractors and their employees, and fights for the interests of professional contractors in every state in the country.

This new standard draft and response form can be found at www.acca.org/ansi.
