Michigan congressman wants independent lead tests for Flint water

September 22, 2015
Rep. Dan Kildee

Dan Kildee, U.S. representative for Michigan's 5th congressional district, says more homes need to have water tested for lead in Flint, Mich., and wants an agency or company other than the city or state to carry out the testing.

The call for independent testing also comes after researchers from Virginia Tech University have reported finding a much greater problem with lead in city drinking water than have city and state tests have suggested.
