Pre-insulated PEX pipe

September 1, 2015
No Comments

This pre-insulated crosslinked polyethylene (PEX) pipe offering now includes insulation thicknesses up to 2 inches to comply with the ASHRAE 90.1-2013 Energy Code and the 2012 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). The new offering includes both AquaPEX pipe for potable plumbing applications, as well as Wirsbo hePEX oxygen-barrier pipe for hydronic heating and cooling applications. In addition to its existing offering of 1/2-inch insulation surrounding 1/2 through 2 inches AquaPEX pipe,  the pipe sizes are now available with 1 and 11/2 inches insulation. The company also offers a new line of pre-insulated Wirsbo hePEX pipe for hydronic heating and cooling applications. It is available in 1/2 through 2 inches pipe sizes with 1/2, 1, 11/2 and 2 inches insulation. The entire offering, which is available in coil lengths of 50, 75 or 100 feet, features manufactured seams in the insulation that run the entire length of the coil, providing greater installation efficiencies by eliminating the need for solvents, glues or tape during the installation process. The offering is also covered by a 25-year limited warranty, which covers the PEX pipe as well as the ASTM F1960 ProPEX expansion fittings.
