‘I’m not responsible for mainland China-made material,’ says plumber in Hong Kong lead-contaminated water scare

Plumber Lam Tak-sum that he was only responsible for the pipes connecting the water mains to the blocks’ water tanks

The South China Morning Post reports that a plumber at the center of a lead-contaminated water scare at a Hong Kong public housing site where pre-cast units imported from mainland China were installed say he cannot be held responsible for material made outside the city’s borders.]

Residents at the Kai Ching Estate have been using temporary water supplies after drinking water was found to be tainted with lead.
