DSG has promoted Darrin Walts to the position of plumbing segment manager. He will be responsible for managing the company’s plumbing segment, helping to ensure the success of DSG’s plumbing customers. Walts will work closely with both DSG’s chief segment officer, Mike Tupa, and the company’s sales manager, Ryan Tracy. He will work out of DSG’s Sioux Falls, S.D., branch, and takes over for Phil Baumel, who retired in September 2016.

Walts joined DSG in 2014 as an account manager. Before DSG, he spent 10 years in California and Texas serving as a branch manager and regional operations manager for Goodman Manufacturing. Prior to that, he worked in California as a regional operations manager for a wholesale distributor and as a customer service manager for a private label oil blender. He also spent a short time as an HVAC contractor in his home state of Michigan.

“Darrin has a tremendous amount of experience, and he knows how to make that experience count,” Tupa said. “We’re confident that he will introduce many new ways for DSG’s plumbing customers to succeed and grow.”
