Keeney Manufacturing announces production investment

April 28, 2015
No Comments

Newington, Connecticut – The Keeney Manufacturing Company expanded its United States manufacturing capacity and efficiencies with a significant investment in injection molding machines, molds and packing equipment. The addition of nine precision molding machines, installed at both its Newington, Connecticut and Winchester, New Hampshire facilities, will increase Keeney’s capacity, bringing its total to 33 injection molding machines between the two facilities.

The new machines will improve efficiencies based on reduced energy consumption and faster cycle times in an effort to continue Keeney’s lean manufacturing initiatives.

In addition, new molds and packaging equipment have been purchased that will further improve quality control, cycle time, and material processing. Overall production capacity will be increased allowing Keeney to ensure customers receive quality products on time.

A second phase is planned that will bring additional machines that would be placed within a fully automated, pack-off-the-machine, production cell. This will bring the product from raw material to packaged finished good without handling; implementation will begin late 2015 and into 2016.

These investments will allow Keeney to remain a leading American manufacturer and supplier of plumbing products to the wholesale and retail markets.
