APR Supply Co., a fourth-generation, family-owned plumbing and HVAC distributor now in its 104th year of business, has announced that it has entered the due diligence phase to acquire the Wheeling, West Virginia operation of Mutual Wholesalers, a respected supplier of plumbing, pipe, valves, and fittings that has served contractors across the Ohio Valley since 1973.

The move would give APR its first location in West Virginia.

Mutual’s Wheeling operation at 3100 Chapline Street carries pipe, valves, and fittings alongside a full plumbing, kitchen, and bath showroom, including water heaters, fixtures, and a well-known hearth and grill business. The company built its name on deep product knowledge, strong inventories, and customer relationships that hold up over generations.

“Mutual has spent over fifty years earning the trust of contractors and builders across the Wheeling market, and that reputation is exactly why we want to be here,” said Scott Weaver, owner and CEO of APR Supply Co. “We are not coming in to change what works. We are coming in to back it, with more inventory, more product lines, and the support of a company that has been in this trade for over a century.”

APR intends to operate the Wheeling location from the same address and build on the product lines and service customers already count on, adding the depth of its HVAC, hydronics, and PVF business.

“Reaching this agreement with APR was an easy decision once I got to know them,” said Len Rogers, president of Mutual Wholesalers. “They run their business the way we always tried to run ours, close to the customer. I’m confident the Wheeling team and the customers they serve are in good hands, and I’m looking forward to keeping my focus on our Huntington location.”

The agreement covers Mutual’s Wheeling operation only. The company’s Huntington, West Virginia location is not part of the transaction and continues under Len Rogers’ ownership.

The move fits APR’s broader growth strategy, which has steadily expanded the company’s branch network across the Mid-Atlantic through both new locations and acquisitions. Wheeling would extend that footprint westward and open a new state for the business.
