Wolseley Canada is proud to announce an investment in skilled trades education in Ontario and Quebec.
Now more than ever, skilled trades professionals play an important role in Canada’s economic growth and infrastructure development.
“As the country focuses on building and investing in infrastructure, it’s critical to have a skilled trades workforce to support those efforts,” said Vanessa Lupton, communications manager, Wolseley Canada. “We understand the importance of an educated trades workforce and want to help alleviate some of the financial burden of pursuing that education.”The investment includes 22 financial need-based bursaries ranging from $1,000 to $2,500, designated for students applying to post-secondary programs in the plumbing and HVAC industry.
“The rising costs of education can be a barrier to success,” Lupton said. “If we can help remove that and encourage students to enter the skilled trades, we’ll know we’ve made a difference.”
