Neuco, a leading master distributor of HVACR controls in North America, has officially completed and activated its rooftop solar panel system at its Bolingbrook, Illinois headquarters. The system went live on July 15, 2025, following final approval from ComEd, and is now generating clean energy for the facility.

The installation includes 1,393 solar panels with a peak power rating of 807.94 kW. Over the next 30 years, it’s expected to produce more than 27.6 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity while preventing approximately 19,591 tons of CO₂ emissions. That’s equivalent to eliminating 4,221 cars from the road for a year or avoiding the use of 2.1 million gallons of gasoline. Monthly electricity costs are projected to drop by up to 68%.

“This project is about more than just energy savings,” said Paul Neustadt, executive chairman of Neuco. “It’s about making intentional decisions that benefit our environment, our employees and the long-term health of our business. We’re proud to take this step forward.”

Designed and installed in partnership with Verde Solutions, the solar system reflects Neuco’s ongoing investment in sustainability, innovation and operational excellence. The system is expected to operate for at least 30 years with minimal maintenance.

To celebrate the milestone, Neuco hosted a “Solarbration” ribbon-cutting event on Aug. 27 at its Bolingbrook facility. The event featured remarks from Paul Neustadt, Bolingbrook Mayor Mary Alexander-Basta and Verde Solutions CEO Chris Gersch, who applauded the company’s leadership in clean energy and community impact.

“This initiative not only lowers our operating costs but also reinforces our role in building a more sustainable future,” said Neil Finke, business process improvement manager at Neuco, who helped lead the project from planning through completion.

As a family-owned company, Neuco is proud to contribute to a cleaner environment while continuing to serve the HVACR industry with the same commitment and care that has defined the business for generations.
