Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) will celebrate its first welding apprentices graduation (Cohort 1), Friday, July 25, 2025

This event marks a significant milestone as ATL honors the first graduating class of its Facilities Maintenance Registered Apprenticeship Program. Over the past year, these graduates logged more than 4,000 on-the-job hours and 288 classroom hours, mastering various welding techniques, blueprint reading, safety protocols, and the specialized skills necessary to maintain and build the critical steel infrastructure that keeps the world’s busiest airport operating smoothly. Additionally, these apprentices will become the first full-time welding crew hired directly by ATL.
