Once the exclusive domain of Assisted Living facilities, Hospitals and Rehabilitation Centers, Grab Bars have entered the mainstream psyche as necessary components of a luxury bath set-up. Not so long ago, grab bars were utilitarian looking, in only a clinical shiny chrome finish, designed to match their clinical settings. Not anymore! At first, hotels caught on to the safety benefits of adding grab bars to showers in all their rooms (not just ADA handicapped rooms) as guests (and hotel owners) recognized the safety implications of having them. Then consumers began ordering them for their bathrooms at home!
