Breaking the Mold: Meet Liz Haynes Ayers.jpg

In our latest Women In PHCP spotlight, we invite you to meet Liz Haynes Ayers, plumbing service manager for Streamline Services! Haynes Ayers' responsibilities go beyond just managing day-to-day operations — she's involved in training, mentorship, one-on-ones, ride-alongs and ensuring that every service call meets the company's standards of quality and customer satisfaction. She works with technicians, dispatchers, and the leadership team to streamline processes and enhance service execution.

Haynes Ayers is passionate about developing future leaders, coaching team members, and finding ways to celebrate team members' successes.

"Liz exemplifies our company’s core values: dependable, dedicated, positive, eager to learn, and process-driven," says Haynes Ayers' colleague and Women In PHCP nominator. "She has exceptional leadership and coaching skills, unwavering commitment, and positive energy that lifts up her team, our organization, and our industry."

Read our Q&A with Haynes Ayers below to learn more about her journey through the industry!

PHCPPros: How and why did you decide to enter a career in the PHCP industry?

Haynes Ayers: I was born and raised in the trades! My dad retired as the general manager of a local HVAC company where I started my career working in the office and moved to dispatcher. After I had my second daughter, I became a stay-at-home mom. A few years later, I got back into the trades and eventually found my home at Streamline.

PHCPPros: What have been some of your career highlights?

Haynes Ayers: My career has taken an incredible path — from dispatcher to care center manager to plumbing service manager. Although I didn't have a technical background in plumbing, I quickly learned that this role is about much more. I focus on motivating, empowering, and advocating for my team. Serving in this role has been the highlight of my career. I strive to break the mold, focus on the positive and embrace every challenge that comes my way!

PHCPPros: What are your experiences with women mentors or mentees?

Haynes Ayers: I am surrounded by incredible women in the trades! I have monthly coaching calls with my mentors. Their guidance, resilience, and leadership have shown me that there’s no limit to what we can achieve. They’ve inspired me to lead with confidence, break barriers, and support others in their growth.

I also work alongside incredible women, many of whom I’ve had the honor of mentoring. I strive to be someone they can turn to for guidance, support, or advice. Being approachable is one of my power strengths, and I never want to lose that. Paying it forward by empowering future and current women in the trades is my passion. Strong mentors create strong leaders, and I’m grateful to be part of this journey!

PHCPPros: What do you think the PHCP industry can do to better recruit and retain women?

Haynes Ayers: The industry needs to actively recruit, support, and empower women by showcasing career opportunities, providing mentorship, and fostering an inclusive culture. Representation matters — women need to see other women thriving in these roles. Creating clear career paths, offering leadership development, and ensuring a supportive work environment will help with retention. Most importantly, we must continue to break stereotypes, amplify women's voices, and build a workplace where they feel valued, respected, and set up for success.

PHCPPros: What advice would you give to a woman entering the PHCP industry?

Haynes Ayers: Believe in yourself and don’t be intimidated by the unknown. You don’t need to have all the technical knowledge and skills right away — what matters most is your willingness to learn, adapt, and lead. Find mentors, ask questions, and never be afraid to put yourself out there. Your perspective, work ethic, and determination will set you apart. The industry needs strong, driven women, so step in with confidence, break the mold and go change the industry!

PHCPPros: Is there anything from you personal life you'd like to highlight?

Haynes Ayers: I'm married to my best friend, Brian, and a mother to my other little best friends, Sarah and Harper. I love having fun and spreading positivity!
