F.W. Webb Co., wholesale distributor of plumbing, heating, HVAC, LP gas, refrigeration, pipe, valves and fittings in the Northeast, has announced that Boston Business Journal named the company to its list of Largest Family-Owned Businesses in Massachusetts. Webb ranked third after placing fifth the previous year.

Ranked by 2021 revenue, the list includes companies that have their headquarters located in the state and are owned, 51% or more, by two or more family members or a husband and wife.

A third-generation Pope family member to serve as president, Jeff Pope began his career at F.W. Webb in 1980 working in sales before becoming president in 2003. His grandfather, Roger Pope, acquired the company in 1933 and his father, John Pope, assumed the mantle of president in 1961.

"My dad believed that consistent business is earned through better customer service every day,” said Jeff Pope. “Our terrific stakeholders continue to strive to build those successful relationships at every opportunity."

Going forward, Jeff and the leadership team at F.W. Webb will continue to emphasize the company’s values while fulfilling the mission that every customer counts.
